Tips, Tricks & Suggestions

  • What type of lamb chops should you use?: Most of the time you will find three different types of lamb chops at your local grocery store.  Lion, Rib, and Should.  And they are all great cuts for this dish, but do have their own qualities that should be noted.  So if you’d like to learn about the differences between these three cuts then check out this post from Food52
  • Make your own harissa: Of course, you can use any brand of harissa that you can find for this marinade.  But I highly recommend that make check out our recipe so you can make some for yourself.
  • How long should you marinate your chops?: A minimum of 30 minutes to make sure that the chops are flavorful.  However, they will become more tender and delicious if you marinate them for longer.  (up to 24 hours)
  • Serving suggestion:  I like to serve these harissa lamb chops with some sort of grain like rice (Saffron Rice), cous cous, or quinoa, and a light refreshing salad.
