Shamrock Shake (Spiked)

A lot of people have fond childhood memories associated with certain holidays.  For some, it’s the memory of trick or treating on Halloween, while for others it opening presents on Christmas or Chanuka.  And don’t get me wrong, I have great memories of both. But for me, I’ll never forget the memory of getting shamrock shakes on St. Patricks day.

Not only did these smooth green minty shakes taste great but there was just something simple and special about the tradition.  A tradition that I, unfortunately, have skipped for a couple of years…. Ok maybe more like a decade. But today we are going to get back into the tradition.  And since I am no longer a kid, I figured what better way to do our shamrock shakes than by making it adult friendly.

And by that I mean we are going to be adding booze!

You know, because why not?

Now of course if you want to make this for children then don’t panic.  You can easily make a non-alcoholic version of this recipe. Just check out my instruction on that in the tips, tricks & suggestions area below.  That being said if you don’t have any kids then spike your shake and live a little. So if you’re ready then let’s get to it!

Tips, Tricks & Suggestions

  • To make this non-alcoholic simply swap out the creme de menth and Irish cream with 4 oz. of cream and a ½ teaspoon of mint extract.
  • Creme de menth comes in both a colored and uncolored version.  If you use the colored version then you might not need to use any food coloring.
