Shrimp Mozambique Recipe

Prep Time5 minutes
Cook Time10 minutes
Total Time15 minutes
Servings: 4

Ingredients

  • 1 LB of medium or large sized shrimp
  • 1 Medium yellow onion finely diced
  • 4 to 6 Cloves of garlic minced
  • 2 Tablespoons of butter
  • 2 Tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1 Cup of dry white wine I’m using pinot grigio
  • 2 Tablespoons of peri peri sauce or more depending on how spicy you like it
  • 1 Tablespoon of paprika or use smoked paprika for more flavor
  • ½ Teaspoon of salt
  • Juice from one lemon

Garnish:

  • Parsley minced

Instructions

  • Saute the onion and garlic: Get out a large pan, add the oil to it and place it over medium-high heat. Then add in the onion and saute it for a couple of minutes, or until it has begun to become translucent. Then toss in the garlic and saute it for another minute.
  • Add the shrimp: Toss in the shrimp along with the salt, paprika, and butter. Mix this into the onion and garlic until the butter melts completely. This should only take a minute.
  • Add in our liquid ingredients: Toss in the wine, lemon juice, and peri peri sauce. Mix this all together and let everything simmer for roughly 5 minutes.
  • Serve your shrimp mozambique either over some white rice, or in a bowl with some crunchy bread. Enjoy
