Homemade Cream Cheese Frosting Recipe

Prep Time5 minutes
Total Time5 minutes
Servings: 4 Cups

Ingredients

  • 8 oz. Cream cheese
  • ¼ Cup of butter softened*
  • 1 Lb of powdered sugar
  • 1 Teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • *To soften the butter all you have to do is let it sit out at room temperature for a couple of hours

Instructions

  • Whip the butter and the cream cheese:  Get out either a mixing bowl, or a stand mixer and add to it, both the cream cheese and the butter.  Then whip both of these together until they form a uniform paste.
  • Add in vanilla extract:  At this point you will need to add the vanilla extract, and mix it into the paste.
  • Add the powdered sugar:  At the end you will need to add in the powdered sugar, but it is very important that you add the powdered sugar in stages or else it can mess up the final product.  So what I recommend is that you add about ¼ of the powdered sugar, then make sure to mix it into the paste properly before you add the next 1/4 , repeating until you have added all of it.
  • Store and Use:  Because this is a cream cheese frosting you will need to store it in your fridge.
