Chocolate Covered Strawberries Recipe

Prep Time2 minutes
Cook Time2 minutes
Rest Time1 hour
Servings: 15 strawberries

Ingredients

  • For every 15 strawberries you will need:
  • 8 Ounces or 1 cup of either semisweet, dark, or white chocolate morsels (I recommend Nestle or Ghirardelli brand)
  • 1 Teaspoon of vegetable oil

Instructions

  • Wash & dry the strawberries: Make sure to not only wash the strawberries, but also make sure that they are completely dry. Any residual water on the strawberries can cause the chocolate to not properly adhere.
  • Get out a cookie/baking sheet and place a sheet wax paper over it.
  • Melt the chocolate: Add the chocolate and the oil to a deep microwavable bowl and stir it up so the oil coats the chocolate. Place this in your microwave and let the microwave run for 30 seconds. Then take it out and give it a stir with a spoon. Repeat this process a couple of times, or until the chocolate is smooth and completely melted when you stir it.
  • Dip the strawberries: Hold the strawberries by their leaves and dunk them one by one into the melted chocolate. Let the excess drip off. Then place each strawberry on the baking sheet.
  • Optional drizzle: After you have done step 4 with all of the strawberries, melt a different type of melted chocolate and place it into a small plastic bag. Then use scissors to cut a small hole on one tip. Finally, just squeeze the bag so that that chocolate drizzles out and over the strawberries.
  • Let them cool in the fridge for about an hour or two.
