To be honest, I’m sort of new to the whole barbecue thing. I mean, obviously, I ate my fair share of it growing up, but as far as cooking “real” barbecue, well that was virgin territory for most of my life. However, four years ago my father invested in a stand-up smoker, and ever since my father and I have been trying to improve our knowledge of the most golden of culinary arts in American cuisine.
It took us some time to learn about the different cuts of meat, the different types of wood to use, for how long, and at what temperature one should cook certain things. All of these are fundamental for making good barbecue. But one thing we learned from the very start was the importance of a good dry rub. That’s why today I would like to share with you my basic barbecue dry rub that I use with all of my barbecue recipes, so if you’re ready to step up your barbecue game then read on.
